During a Q&A session with its investors Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata spoke about the Virtual Console, and how the company wishes to “enrich” the lineup soon.

“While Wii U and Nintendo 3DS already offer Virtual Console software, I feel that we have not been able to take full advantage of our assets yet so we would like to enrich our Virtual Console lineup,” said Iwata. “As the ability to digitally offer our products has given us greater flexibility in offering new propositions to our consumers, we should naturally consider these possibilities in the future.”

Nintendo has recently been doing more to bolster its eShop lineup with same day downloads of released games, and bringing top titles exclusively for eShop like Phoenix Wright: Dual Destinies. It’ll be interesting to see what Nintendo does going forward with the service.
