The Playstation 4 is finally here and with it comes the promise of great indie games, so like we did with the Playstation 3 and the top indie games on that console will that a look at the top indie games on the Playstation 4 console so far. Just like on the Playstation 3’s top indie games list these games are listed in no particular order and will be updated every so often with new games that are worthy to be on such a list. *If you know of a game that should be on the list comment down below. Be sure to check out our Top Playstation 3 Indie Games as well Resogun (Housemarque) Without out a doubt the best launch game on the Playstation 4. Resogun was a game that was on many people’s most anticipated Playstation 4 launch games, and for good reason. It was developed by Housemarque (Super StarDust HD, Dead Nation) a developer that has already made multiple highly addictive and popular games for Sony and Resogun was expected to be no different. Resogun is a festival of voxels incorporated with a magical show of colors and lights that’s played out on a circular level. The game is free right now for Playstation Plus members; you’ll be a fool not to download and play this gem of a game. Contrast (Comlusion Games) Set in the 1920s, Contrast takes a new approach to puzzle platforming with the creative use of lights and shadows. You play as Didi’s imaginary friend, who can only see the shadows of the other people in the world, in this beautiful and very Noir style story. Also free to Playstation Plus members Contrast is yet another game that you must download if you’re a Plus member. Although the game is buggy it doesn’t take away from the great time you’ll have with it; albeit it a frustratingly good time. Trine 2: Complete Story (Frozenbyte) Trine 2: The Complete Story comes to the Playstation 4 in all its glory and then some. The “and then some” part comes in the fact the game, developed by Fromzenbyte, plays on the Playstation 4 at 60fps and in full 1080p making this already B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L game even sexier. Play as three different characters, each with their own unique ability, in over 20 physics-based puzzles for a bit of a step price. With the $20 price tag it makes it a bit hard to buy, but if you’re looking for a gorgeous game that you can play in stereoscopic 3D you might want to check this game out. Warframe (Digital Extremes) A free-to-play game that meshes ninjas and a sci-fi story line with some gun play has to be on this list. Warframe took me by complete surprise when I first played it, and gave me something else to play other than Resogun and Killzone: Shadow Fall. If you’re looking for something new other the current gen games that were ported over to the PS4 and are tired of other Playstation 4 first party games go ahead and download this free-to-play gem. Flower (thatgamecompany) Flower is one of those games that when you first hear the concept of what it is you get confused, then curiosity kicks in. From developer thatgamecompany, Flower is also one of the most beautiful and relaxing game I have played. Controlled by the SixAxis tech in your PS3/PS4 remote. you control a pedal(s). As you go through the game you’ll be joined by more pedals thus making your journey (see what I did there) through the beautiful landscapes of the game even more engaging. Sound Shapes (Queasy Games ) Sound Shapes takes the traditional platformer concept and…well, that’s it. It’s a game that doesn’t compare with past games in the genre. From the creative mind of Jonathan Mak of Queasy Games, Sounds Shapes ignores death and combat, instead incorporates amazing sounds and beautiful visuals with exciting gameplay mechanics. Sound Shapes offers up an unexpected and satisfying experience that’s worth your time.
