Facebook’s acquisition of the Oculus VR headset has been approved by the Federal Trade Commission.

Facebook announced last month that it intended on buying the Kickstarter-backed project for $2 billion.

“The Rift is highly anticipated by the gaming community, and there’s a lot of interest from developers in building for this platform,” wrote Facebook Founder Mark Zuckerberg in a Facebook update on March 25. “We’re going to focus on helping Oculus build out their product and develop partnerships to support more games. Oculus will continue operating independently within Facebook to achieve this.”

This marks the first ever hardware acquisition by the social media giant, Facebook.
